    How to Share Files on Windows

    Share files with others via network sharing, email, or nearby sharing features.

    Use Nearby Sharing

    Right-click a file → ShareTurn on Nearby Sharing. Nearby Windows PCs will appear as targets.

    Share via email

    Right-click a file → Share → choose your email app to send the file as an attachment.

    Use OneDrive sharing

    Save files to OneDrive, then right-click → ShareOneDrive to generate a shareable link.

    Quick Tip

    OneDrive links let you control whether the recipient can view only or also edit the file. Choose view-only unless you need collaboration.

    Network file sharing

    Right-click a folder → PropertiesSharingShare with specific people on your local network.

    Warning

    Only share folders on your home network, never on public Wi-Fi. Shared folders can be accessed by anyone on the same network.
