    How to Take a Screenshot on Mac

    Capture your screen on Mac using simple keyboard shortcuts — no apps needed.

    Full screen screenshot

    Press +Shift+3 to capture the entire screen. The image saves to your Desktop.

    Selected area screenshot

    Press +Shift+4, then click and drag to select the area you want to capture.

    Capture a specific window

    Press +Shift+4, then press Space. Click the window you want to capture (it gets a nice shadow).

    Screenshot toolbar

    Press +Shift+5 to open the screenshot toolbar with all capture options plus screen recording.
