    Click "Virus & Threat Protection" → Quick Scan for a fast check, or Scan OptionsFull Scan for thorough scanning.

    Run a Quick Scan weekly and a Full Scan monthly for best protection.

    Check protection status

    The main dashboard shows green checkmarks if everything is protected. Yellow or red means action needed.

    Spot fake virus alerts

    Most scary virus pop-ups are fake scams. NEVER call any phone number shown in a pop-up. NEVER click buttons inside the pop-up.

    Enable real-time protection

    Ensure Real-time Protection, Cloud-delivered Protection, and Automatic Sample Submission are all on.

    Click "Protection History" to see past threats and the actions Windows Security has taken.
