Walgreens is one of the most recognized pharmacy chains in the United States, with pharmacies in all 50 states. The Walgreens app makes managing your health and shopping needs more convenient by bringing prescription management, rewards tracking, health records, and appointment scheduling to your smartphone.
Prescription management is the most commonly used feature. Through the app, you can refill existing prescriptions by scanning the barcode on the bottle or selecting from your prescription history. You can choose to pick up in the store or, for many medications, receive home delivery. The app sends notifications when your prescription is ready so you can plan your pickup.
Walgreens also operates a rewards program called myWalgreens (formerly Balance Rewards). The app connects to your myWalgreens account, where points accumulate from purchases and are redeemable for cash rewards at checkout. Digital coupons load directly from the app to your account and apply automatically.
The Walgreens health section includes tools beyond pharmacy. You can schedule flu shots, COVID vaccinations, and other immunizations at your local Walgreens directly through the app. After receiving a vaccine at Walgreens, your immunization record is stored in the app, making it easy to share with doctors or employers who need documentation.
The app also connects to Walgreens Find Care, which can help you locate health services including virtual doctor visits and testing. The app is free on iPhone and Android, and walgreens.com provides the same functionality in a browser.
