    Advanced Windows Keyboard Shortcuts

Go beyond copy-paste with these power-user keyboard combinations from Microsoft.

    1

    Virtual desktops

    ~15s
⊞ Win+Ctrl+D creates a new virtual desktop. ⊞ Win+Ctrl+Left/Right Arrow switches between them. ⊞ Win+Ctrl+F4 closes the current desktop. Great for separating work and personal tasks.
    2

    Window management

    ~15s
⊞ Win+D shows/hides the desktop. Alt+F4 closes the active window. ⊞ Win+Tab opens Task View showing all windows. Alt+Tab switches between open windows.
    3

    Clipboard history

    ~15s
⊞ Win+V opens Clipboard History — see everything you have copied recently, not just the last item. Pin frequently used items so they stay in the list.
    4

    File Explorer power moves

    ~15s
⊞ Win+E opens File Explorer. Ctrl+Shift+N creates a new folder. F2 renames the selected item. F5 refreshes. Alt+Up Arrow goes up one folder level.

    ~15s
⊞ Win+X opens the Quick Link menu with shortcuts to Device Manager, Disk Management, Terminal, Task Manager, and other power tools.
    6

    ~15s
⊞ Win+Shift+S opens the Snipping Tool for screenshots. ⊞ Win+G opens the Game Bar for screen recording (works for any app, not just games).
