How to Take a Screenshot on iPhone

Capture anything on your iPhone screen in one second — useful for saving receipts, directions, or photos of conversations.

    1

Take a screenshot on iPhone with Face ID (iPhone X and newer)

    ~22s
Press the Side button (right edge) and the Volume Up button (left edge) at the same time, then quickly release both. You will see a white flash and hear a camera click. A small thumbnail appears in the bottom-left corner.

    Quick Tip

Tap the thumbnail to edit or share the screenshot immediately, or swipe it away to save it to Photos automatically.

    2

Take a screenshot on iPhone with a Home button (iPhone 8 and older)

    ~15s
Press the Side button (or Top button) and the Home button at the same time, then quickly release. You will see the same white flash and a thumbnail will appear in the bottom-left corner.
    3

    Find your screenshots in Photos

    ~15s
All screenshots are saved to the Photos app automatically. Open Photos, tap Albums at the bottom, then scroll down to find the Screenshots album. All your captures are stored there.
    4

    Take a full-page screenshot

    ~18s
After taking a screenshot, tap the thumbnail before it disappears. At the top of the editing screen, tap "Full Page." This captures the entire webpage or document — great for long emails or articles you want to save.

    Quick Tip

Full Page screenshots only work in Safari (Apple's web browser), not in all apps.

    5

Use Assistive Touch if buttons are hard to press

    ~21s
If pressing two buttons at once is difficult, turn on Assistive Touch. Go to Settings > Accessibility > Touch > Assistive Touch and turn it on. A floating button will appear on your screen. Tap it, then tap Device > More > Screenshot to take a screenshot with one tap.
