How to Set Up Medication Reminders on Your Phone

Never miss a dose again. Use your phone to remind you when it is time to take your medication.

    1

Use your phone clock (simplest method)

    ~17s
Open the Clock app on your phone. Tap "Alarm" and set an alarm for each medication time. Label it with the medication name (for example, "Blood Pressure Pill"). Set it to repeat daily.

    Quick Tip

This is the easiest method if you only take 1-2 medications at set times.

    2

    Use Apple Health (iPhone)

    ~15s
Open the Health app. Tap "Browse" at the bottom, then "Medications." Tap "Add a Medication" and enter the name, dosage, and schedule. Your iPhone will send you a notification at each scheduled time and track whether you took it.
    3

Use a dedicated app (for complex schedules)

    ~15s
Download Medisafe (free, iPhone and Android). Add each medication with its name, dosage, and schedule. Medisafe sends reminders, tracks refills, and can even alert a family member if you miss a dose.
    4

    Set up refill reminders

    ~15s
Most pharmacy apps (CVS, Walgreens, Walmart) can send you a notification when your prescription is ready for refill. Download your pharmacy app and turn on notifications in Settings.
