How to Set Up Medication Reminders on Your Phone

Never forget a tablet again — set daily or multiple-daily reminders using your phone or a dedicated app.

    1

Use your phone's built-in alarm (simplest method)

    ~25s
On iPhone: open the Clock appAlarm → tap "+". Set the time, label it "Morning tablets" or whatever makes sense to you, and turn on "Repeat" to choose which days. On Android: open the Clock appAlarm → tap "+". Same process. This is free and already on your phone — no new apps needed.

    Quick Tip

Set a separate alarm for each medication time if you take them at different times of day.

    2

Use Reminders for a label and sound (iPhone)

    ~19s
The Reminders app lets you create a checklist you can tick off. Open Reminders → tap "+" → type "Take blood pressure tablets" → tap the (i) to set an alert time → turn on "Repeat" for daily. Unlike alarms, you can tick these off as a checklist, which some people find satisfying.
    3

    Try Medisafe (dedicated medication app)

    ~24s
Medisafe is a free app (on App Store and Google Play) designed specifically for medication management. It lets you add each medication by name, dose, and schedule. It reminds you, tracks what you've taken, and can alert a family member if you miss a dose. Search "Medisafe" in your app store.

    Quick Tip

Medisafe is especially useful if you take several medications at different times. It also provides information about possible drug interactions.

    4

Ask Alexa or Siri to remind you

    ~24s
You can set a voice reminder without even picking up your phone: say "Hey Alexa, remind me to take my tablets every morning at 8am" or "Hey Siri, remind me to take my evening tablets every day at 8pm." Your device will speak the reminder out loud at that time every day.

    Quick Tip

This works especially well if you keep an Amazon Echo or your phone near where you keep your medication.
