    How to Set Up an Amazon Fire TV Stick

    Plug in your Fire TV Stick and start streaming shows, movies, and more.

    Plug the Fire TV Stick into your TV

    Insert the Fire TV Stick into an open HDMI port on your TV. Connect the USB power cable to the stick and plug the other end into the wall adapter.

    Turn on your TV and switch inputs

    Turn on your TV and press the Input or Source button on your TV remote. Select the HDMI port where you plugged in the Fire TV Stick.

    Pair the remote

    The Fire TV Stick will search for its remote. Press and hold the Home button (the house icon) on the Fire TV remote for about 10 seconds until it connects.

    Connect to Wi-Fi and sign in

    Choose your Wi-Fi network and enter your password. Then sign in with your Amazon account. If you bought the stick from Amazon, it may already be linked to your account.

    If you do not have an Amazon account, you can create a free one during setup.

    Start streaming

    Once setup is complete, you will see the Fire TV home screen. Browse through apps like Prime Video, Netflix, and Disney+. Use the voice button on the remote to search by saying what you want to watch.
