Set your daily goal

Duolingo will ask how much time you want to spend each day. Choose "Casual" (5 minutes), "Regular" (10 minutes), "Serious" (15 minutes), or "Intense" (20 minutes). You can change this anytime.

Complete lessons

Each lesson teaches you new words and phrases through matching, multiple choice, listening, and speaking exercises. Lessons are short — usually about 5 minutes each. You earn points and streak badges for practicing every day.

Practice daily

Duolingo sends you daily reminders to practice. Try to keep your streak going — it tracks how many days in a row you have practiced. Even one lesson a day makes a difference over time.
