Stream music playlists and podcasts on Spotify for free or with a premium subscription on any device.

    1

    Create a free Spotify account

    ~15s
Go to spotify.com or download the Spotify app on your phone. Click "Sign up for free" and register with your email address or your Google or Facebook account. The free plan gives you access to the full library with ads.
    2

    Search for music or artists

    ~15s
Tap the magnifying glass icon and type an artist name, song title, or genre. Tap a result to see that artist's top songs and albums. Tap the play button next to any song to start listening.

    Explore curated playlists

    ~15s
Tap "Search" and browse genres like Pop, Country, Classical, or Jazz. Spotify creates playlists for every mood and occasion — "Chill Hits," "Workout," "Morning Coffee," and many more. Tap a playlist and hit play to enjoy a curated mix.

    Listen to podcasts

    ~15s
Tap "Search" and scroll to the "Browse" section, then tap "Podcasts and Shows." Search for a podcast by name or browse by category. Tap an episode and press play. Episodes download automatically on premium plans.

    ~16s
Tap "Your Library" at the bottom, then the "+" icon to create a new playlist. Give it a name. To add songs to it, find a song you like, tap the three dots next to it, and choose "Add to playlist." Build your own personalized music collection.
