    How to Use Virtual Desktops on Windows

    Organize your work by creating multiple desktops for different tasks.

    Open Task View

    Press ⊞ Win+Tab or click the Task View button on the taskbar to see all open windows and desktops.

    Create a new desktop

    Click "New Desktop" at the top of Task View. You now have a clean workspace.

    Switch between desktops

    Use ⊞ Win+Ctrl+Left/Right arrows to move between desktops, or click them in Task View.

    Move windows between desktops

    In Task View, drag a window from one desktop to another, or right-click → Move toDesktop X.

    Close a virtual desktop

    ~15s
    Hover over a desktop in Task View and click the X. Any open windows move to the previous desktop.
