How to Use the Weather App on Your Phone

Check the weather forecast on your phone so you know what to expect before heading out.

    1

    Find the weather app

    ~15s
Most phones come with a weather app already installed. On iPhone, it is called "Weather" (blue icon with a sun). On Android, it may be called "Weather" or you can download "The Weather Channel" or "AccuWeather" from the app store for free.
    2

    Allow location access

    ~15s
When you first open the app, it may ask to use your location. Tap "Allow" so it can show you the weather for where you are right now.
    3

    Read today's forecast

    ~18s
The main screen shows the current temperature and weather conditions (sunny, cloudy, rainy, etc.). Scroll down to see the hourly forecast and the forecast for the next several days.

    Quick Tip

Check the hourly forecast before heading out. The weather can change during the day — it might be sunny in the morning but rainy in the afternoon.

    4

    Add other locations

    ~15s
You can add cities to check the weather in other places. Tap the search bar or the + button, then type a city name. This is helpful if you are traveling or want to check on family in another state.
