    How to Set Up an Apple TV

    Get your Apple TV connected and ready to stream your favorite content.

    In this guide (5 steps):

    1. 1.Connect the Apple TV to your television
    2. 2.Turn on your TV and select the right input

    4. 4.Use your iPhone for quick setup

    Connect the Apple TV to your television

    Plug one end of the HDMI cable into the Apple TV box and the other end into an HDMI port on your TV. Then plug the power cord into the Apple TV and into a wall outlet.

    Turn on your TV and select the right input

    Turn on your TV and press the Input or Source button on your TV remote. Choose the HDMI port where you connected the Apple TV.

    Pair the Siri Remote

    The Apple TV will ask you to pair the remote. Hold the remote close to the Apple TV and press and hold the Back button and the Volume Up button at the same time until it connects.

    Use your iPhone for quick setup

    If you have an iPhone, hold it near the Apple TV. A setup prompt will appear on your phone. This will automatically transfer your Wi-Fi password and Apple ID so you do not have to type them in.

    Quick Tip

    If you do not have an iPhone, you can still set up manually by selecting your Wi-Fi network and typing your Apple ID and password with the remote.

    Start watching

    Once setup is done, you will see the Apple TV home screen with apps like Apple TV+, Netflix, Hulu, and more. Use the touchpad on the Siri Remote to browse and select what you want to watch.
