    How to Free Up Space on Your iPhone

    Running out of storage? Clear space without losing important photos and data.

    Check what's using space

    Settings > General > iPhone Storage. See a breakdown by app. Apps are listed by size. Large apps you don't use are the quickest wins for freeing space.

    Offload unused apps

    Settings > General > iPhone Storage > Enable Offload Unused Apps. iOS removes apps you haven't used recently but keeps their data. Reinstall anytime and your data returns.

    Clear Safari cache

    Settings > Safari > Clear History and Website Data. This removes temporary files, cookies, and browsing history. Can free up several hundred MB or more.

    Manage photos

    Photos often use the most storage. Enable iCloud Photos (Settings > Photos > iCloud Photos) and turn on "Optimize iPhone Storage." Full-resolution photos stay in iCloud; your phone keeps smaller versions.

    Delete large message attachments

    Settings > General > iPhone Storage > Messages > Review Large Attachments. Delete old photos, videos, and files sent through Messages. These can use several GB without you realizing.

    Review downloaded content

    Check streaming apps: Netflix, Spotify, and podcasts download content. Delete downloads you've finished. In each app, look for Downloaded or Offline content.

    Delete and reinstall apps

    Some apps accumulate large caches. If an app uses far more space than expected (visible in iPhone Storage), delete and reinstall it to clear the cache.
